FAQs
Why choose Quiet Tides?
Quiet Tides supports meaningful transformation through somatic and embodied practices, intuitive guidance, yogic and Ayurvedic wisdom and grounded spiritual work.
It’s a space to realign with your truth, release what no longer serves you, awaken creative flow and step into the next chapter of your life with clarity and ease.
The work is experiential and body-led, helping insights land in your lived experience, rather than just being understood via the intellect.
Is the Quiet Mirror Journey a type of therapy?
The Quiet Mirror is not a clinical therapy. It is a holistic, intuitive approach to personal growth and self-awareness, drawing on spiritual, shamanic, somatic and nature-based practices. It works on the energetic and soul level, rather than solely on the mental plane, which supports personal and somatic transformation rather than clinical diagnoses or treatment. Each session is designed to meet you where you are - helping you move through change with presence, insight and balance. The Quiet Mirror can stand alone as a gentle yet powerful path of inner work, or sit beautifully alongside therapy or counselling.
What does “somatic” mean?
“Somatic” simply means “of the body”. Somatic practices invite you to connect with your body’s sensations, rhythms and wisdom - helping you feel grounded, present and aware of how emotions and experiences live within you.
What does “embodied” mean?
“Embodied” means present, felt and lived through the body - not just understood in the mind. For example, through “embodied reflection”, awareness moves from thought into feeling. You might be invited to pause, breathe, sense into the body and notice where a story lives within you. The body becomes a compass, showing what is ready to be seen, released or reclaimed.
What is Life Visioning?
Life Visioning is a guided process that helps you connect with your deeper purpose and create a life aligned with your true values. Through meditation, reflections and intuitive exercises, you’re invited to see beyond the mind’s plans and listen to what your soul is calling for - so your goals and choices arise from clarity and authenticity.
What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra is a a guided meditative practice that brings profound rest and clarity. By entering a state of conscious relaxation, the body releases stress while deep layers of the mind open to insight and renewal. It’s both a healing tool and a doorway to self-awareness.
What is Ritual?
Ritual is the art of slowing down to meet the sacred in everyday life. Through simple, intentional gestures - lighting a candle, speaking a prayer, breathing with awareness - we give form to what our hearts feel. Rituals honour transition, invite presence and remind us that change can be graceful when met with devotion.
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a living wisdom that sees each person as a unique expression of the five elements - earth, water, fire, air and space. By understanding our natural constitution and current imbalances, we can realign through diet, daily rhythm, breath and awareness.
In my work, I draw on my professional knowledge of Ayurveda and apply its principles in a somatic, body-led way during sessions. This means we use the insights of Ayurveda not as a prescription, but as a tool for listening to the body, noticing patterns and supporting balance, integration and self-trust.
It’s a path of remembering wholeness - living in alignment with both our inner nature and the world around us.
What is Breathwork?
Breathwork is a tool to awaken both awareness and vitality. By working with the breath, we activate healing, shift energetic blocks and access deeper levels of clarity, calm and creativity.
What is Nature Symbolism
Nature Symbolism is the practice of noticing and working with the messages, patterns and metaphors that appear in the natural world - from plants, animals, seasons and landscapes. It helps us connect with the cycles of life, reflect on our own inner states and receive guidance in a gentle, intuitive way. By paying attention to these natural symbols, we can uncover insights, gain clarity and find support for personal growth, transformation and creative expression.
What is Shamanism?
Shamanism is a way of listening - to the land, the body and the unseen threads that weave through life. It honours the spirit in all things and invites us to walk in deeper relationship with ourselves and the natural world. It’s about remembering our own innate capacity to communicate with the living world and the wisdom within.
What can I expect in a Quiet Mirror session?
Each session is a spacious, intuitive container guided by what you bring. You may explore inner reflection, guided meditation, breathwork, yogic tools, visioning, ritual or inner child practices - all tailored to your needs. Sessions offer a blend of presence, insight and gentle guidance, creating space for clarity, release and the unfolding of your own rhythm.
How do I prepare for a session?
No special preparation is needed - only your presence. It can be helpful to arrive with an open heart and mind, a willingness to explore and a sense of curiosity. You might like to wear comfortable clothing, have a journal nearby and set aside time to be fully present.
Do you do Taster Sessions?
Yes. A full one-to-one session is perfect if you’re curious about Quiet Tides, exploring new possibilities or simply want a pause to reset and connect with yourself.
Is The Quiet Mirror suitable for beginners?
While The Quiet Mirror can support newcomers to meditation, breathwork and inner reflection, it’s designed for individuals who are ready to embark on a deeper journey. The practices are transformative and may involve working through inner challenges, making them more suited for those with some experience or a readiness to engage with personal growth on a more profound level. You will be supported throughout, but it’s helpful to come with an open mind and a willingness to dive deeper into your inner landscape.
